ROASTED TOMATILLO HATCH CHILI VERDE SAUCE
Roasted Tomatillo Hatch Chili Verde Sauce
Someone gave me fresh tomatillos at work so this is what I did…
Yield: 3-4 servings
PREP IT!
8 Tomatillos, de-husked and cleaned, halved
3 Jalapeños, halved
½ Red Onion, diced
10 cloves Garlic, whole
¼ Cilantro, fresh
10 sprigs Thyme, fresh
½ tablespoon Cumin, ground
½ tablespoon Hatch chili, ground
½ tablespoon Taste Tutor Seasoning 101
½ tablespoon Oregano, dried
½ tablespoon Roasted Green Pepper, dried
2 tablespoons Bay leaves
MAKE IT!
Roast tomatillos, jalapeños, onion, and garlic in a 425F oven for 25 minutes until vegetables are slightly charred.
Blend roasted vegetables with remaining ingredients.
Use sauce as desired.
Tip: Sauce is very spicy so adjust jalapeños and hatch chili powder down if necessary.
Reheat leftovers: in the oven or in the microwave.
