GREEN BEAN FRIES
Green Bean Fries
Simple and crispy green bean fries…
Yield: 3-4 servings
PREP IT!
For frying Oil, any kind
1 pound Green Beans, fresh, cleaned and popped, or frozen, whole
For Dry Hand – Bowl 1:
1 cup Flour, all purpose
6 tablespoons Taste Tutor Seasoning 101 or Taste Tutor Smoked 101
½ teaspoon Chipotle powder or Cayenne pepper (optional)
2 tablespoons Chili powder
For Wet Hand – Bowl 2:
2 large Eggs
1 teaspoon Tabasco or your favorite hot sauce
For Dry Hand – Bowl 3:
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1 cup Cornmeal
MAKE IT!
Wash and blanch fresh green beans (refer to ‘BLANCHING VEGETABLE’ tutorial) or use frozen whole green beans.
Stir flour mixture ingredients together in one bowl. Whisk egg and hot sauce together in a second bowl. Stir panko and cornmeal together in a third bowl.
Follow the Three Step Breading Method. Using one hand, toss green beans in flour mixture.
Then, using the other hand, dip coated green beans into egg mixture.
With the dry hand, toss egg coated green beans with panko/cornmeal mixture.
Fry coated green beans in 375*F (190*C) oil for 2-3 minutes until coating is golden brown and crispy. Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce!!
