CHAMPAGNE MAMI
Champagne Mami
From the Taste Tutor “Brown Drinks for Girls” Cocktail series. Lemon drop meets Champagne.
Yield: 3 servings
PREP IT!
1 Lemon, zested
3 tablespoons Sugar, granulated
Honey, for glass rim
3 ounces Rum, gold
1½ ounces Lemon juice, fresh squeezed
Champagne, to fill
Lemon peel, for garnish
MAKE IT!
You’ll need three champagne flutes.
In a small bowl stir together lemon zest and sugar.
On a small plate, squeeze a ring of honey, maple syrup, or agave large enough to fit the diameter of your champagne flute.
Invert the champagne flute and coat the top of the glass with the honey, maple syrup, or agave. Dip the coated glass rim into the bowl of lemon zest & sugar mixture. Repeat for all three glasses.
Into each champagne flute add 1 tablespoon of the lemon zest & sugar mixture, 1 ounce of rum, and ½ ounce of lemon juice. Stir.
Pour champagne into glass to fill. Cheers and Enjoy!
Tip: If you want a non-alcoholic version skip the rum and champagne and replace with sparkling cider or ginger ale.
