SOUTHERN FRIED CABBAGE

Southern Fried Cabbage

This is my mommy’s recipe and I cooked it using a cabbage I grew in the garden…

Yield: 2-4 servings

PREP IT!

  • 1 small head Cabbage, chopped

  • 3 slices Bacon, thick cut, chopped

  • ¼ large Red onion, fresh, chopped

  • ¼ large Yellow onion, fresh, chopped

  • 1½ teaspoon Roasted garlic puree

  • 1 teaspoon Taste Tutor Seasoning 101

  • ½ teaspoon Taste Tutor Blackening Seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon Chicken bouillon powder

MAKE IT!

  1. In a large skillet, over medium high heat, sauté bacon until fat is rendered and bacon is crisp. Remove bacon pieces.

  2. Add in onions and sauté for two minutes until they start to become translucent. Then add roasted garlic purée and sauté for another 30 seconds.

  3. Then add in cabbage and all the seasonings. Sauté until you reach the desired cabbage texture. I like mine to remain a little crunchy, so I sauté for eight minutes.

  4. Add back in the bacon bits and serve alongside your favorite dishes. Enjoy!

Storage: In refrigerator in airtight container for up to 2 days. Thes

Reheat: These can be reheated on the stove top or in the microwave.
