WÜSTHOF PRECISION 6" CHEF'S KNIFE 4782 /16 WS

I WAS GIFTED THIS KNIFE AFTER GIVING AN OLD WASHER AND DRYER SET TO A NEWLY GRADUATED COLLEGE STUDENT MOVING INTO HIS FIRST APARTMENT. HIS MOM KNEW I NEEDED A NEW CHEF’S KNIFE AND THIS WAS THE ONE! THIS KNIFE IS LITERALLY THE PERFECT SIZE FOR MY HANDS AND THE PERFECT WEIGHT FOR ALL MY CHOPPING NEEDS AND WHAT NOT.

 

VINTAGE LE CREUSET SIGNATURE ENAMELED CAST-IRON 4½ QUART ROUND FRENCH (DUTCH) OVEN - CHOCOLATE BROWN

THIS BEAUTY WAS THRIFTED AND SEASONED. I USE IT WHEN MAKING BRAISED GREENS, HEAVY STEWS, OXTAILS, AND SO MANY OTHER THINGS. I BASICALLY KEEP THIS ONE ON THE STOVE AT ALL TIMES BECAUSE IT GETS USED SO OFTEN.

 

LE CREUSET SIGNATURE ENAMELED CAST-IRON 5½ QUART ROUND FRENCH (DUTCH) OVEN - SOLEIL

I WENT TO NEW MEXICO FOR TWO REASONS. 1. BECAUSE I’D NEVER BEEN. 2. BECAUSE THERE WAS A CHEAP FLIGHT. WHILE DRIVING BACK FROM HIKING THE SAN YSIDRO TRAILS I STUMBLED UPON A LE CREUSET OUTLET AND THEY HAD A SALE; 50% OFF!!! I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO GET THIS YELLOW BABY AND TAKE IT HOME. I DON’T USE THIS ONE QUITE AS OFTEN AS THE BROWN ONE BUT IT’S YELLOW SO OBVIOUSLY NECESSARY.

THIS IS ANOTHER THRIFTED, SEASONED ITEM THAT STAYS ON THE STOVE. I USE THIS LITERALLY EVERY DAY FOR SOMETHING. EVEN WHEN I DON’T INTEND TO, IT GETS USED. I MAKE FRIED RICE, SAUTÉ VEGETABLES, SEAR MEATS, FRY EGGS, WARM TORTILLAS, ANYTHING REALLY.

 

STAINLESS STEEL COOKING POT WITH GLASS TOP

I LOVE THIS THING, DENT AND ALL. I’VE HAD IT SINCE COLLEGE AND IT JUST WORKS FOR ME. I TYPICALLY USE IT FOR BOILING PASTA, BLANCHING VEGETABLES, MAKING MY TAMARIND BARBEQUE SAUCE, OR BÉCHAMEL FOR MY MACARONI AND CHEESE SAUCE.  

 

YELLOW SILICONE SPOON WITH METAL HANDLE

I LIKE IT SIMPLY BECAUSE IT’S YELLOW. OBVIOUSLY, I USE IT FOR STIRRING, AND SOMETIMES AS A SPATULA, BUT MOSTLY AS A MUDDLER FOR WHEN I MAKE MOJITOS… HA!

 

MASON JARS

BALL 16 OZ. REGULAR MOUTH CANNING JARS WITH THE LIQUID MEASUREMENT MARKINGS ON THE SIDE, BALL REGULAR MOUTH8 OZ. GLASS MASON JARS WITH LIDS AND BANDS, AND KERR® QUILTED CRYSTAL® REGULAR MOUTH 4 OZ. GLASS MASON JARS WITH LIDS AND BANDS.

I GET THESE AT TARGET ALL THE TIME. I USE THEM FOR EVERYTHING INCLUDING FOOD STORAGE, DRINKING GLASSES, SPICE STORAGE, FREEZER CONTAINERS, AND MEAL PREP CONTAINERS. I ALSO USE THEM FOR COCKTAIL STORAGE BECAUSE WHY NOT MAKE COCKTAILS AHEAD OF TIME AND HAVE THEM READY FOR YOUR GUESTS WHEN THEY ARRIVE? THEY ARE GREAT AS EMERGENCY LIQUID MEASURING CUPS WHEN I’M TOO LAZY TO WASH MY ACTUAL MEASURING CUP. I’M SURE I’M FORGETTING SOMETHING ELSE I USE THEM FOR BUT THEY'RE EXTREMELY VERSATILE. 

 

BLACK STONE MORTAR AND PESTLE

I FOUND THIS AT A HOLE IN THE WALL STORE JUST OUTSIDE OF PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA. I USE TO GRIND MY TOASTED SPICES, MAKE GARLIC PASTES, SOFRITOS, AND CARIBBEAN GREEN SEASONING BECAUSE WHO WANTS TO WASH ALL THE PIECES OF A BLENDER OR COFFEE GRINDER?
